This month was a record dividend haul. In other words, it was a monster money haul for me. But first, what good is passive income from dividends, if you can’t create experience dividends from travel with those you love?
Travel
This month I spent part of it at my vacation property in Mexico. I escaped Canada in late December and spent almost a month down south enjoying the sunshine and laid back vibes of the sunny beach town that is Puerto Vallarta (PV).
I was fortunate to have my parents stay with me. They took the Master bedroom and I stayed in the guest bedroom. There are two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and two balconies so there is lots of space to host. Part of my why for FI (Financial Independence) was to spend more time with family (and friends) and with two bedrooms at my vacation property, this is a reality for me now. I’m heading back down for most of March this month, and a friend from back home is visiting for about a week.
Are you planning on taking your own trip to PV? Check out my Instagram page to learn more about my vacation property listing and this blog post from yours truly on things to keep you busy during your stay.
By popular demand from a recent Tweet about my vacation property, I will post a more in-depth blog entry on my property and financing it, taxes, residency, and property management, etc.
