Before we jump in my financial results for June, let’s catch up on where I’ve been and what I’ve been doing.
This month I kept busy traveling and working remotely in Sofia, Bulgaria and Tirana, Albania. My passive income and front loaded sacrifice has enabled me to dictate the terms on my work and a redline for me in 2024 was going remote at work so I could live abroad.
The weather has been scorching hot for most of June with little rain (no complaints here) and Tirana, in particular is VERY affordable, shockingly so. You can eat a full dinner all in for between $10-$14 per person at a restaurant. Lunch is a very affordable $4. Needless to say, I ate out more frequently in Tirana than I have in other cities so far on this journey.
Check out some pictures from my travels in both cities in June:

Day in the Life
Since going fully remote in Europe, my day generally looks like:
- Wake up at 7am and get ready for the day. Grab a piece of fruit on the way out the door.
- Local cafe for a coffee at 8am to read the news, check email and social media, including my dividends and place orders for equity purchases that day. I use this time to do some work for my day job.
- 11am late breakfast at the Airbnb
- Exercise + tourist sightseeing in the afternoon (perhaps with a stop at a cafe in the afternoon for a bit to do some more work for my day job).
- Dinner around 5-7pm
- Evening walk or hike from 6-9pm
- Bed by around 10-11pm.
- Repeat
June 2024 Dividend Total and Breakdown
My Dividend total for June 2024: $8,044.98
- I earned $287.32 every day from dividends.
- I earned $50.28 per hour from dividends (assuming a 9-5pm job).
- I earned $11.97 every hour of every day of the month from dividends.
Other Income Sources
My other incomes sources for this June were scarce, not including my employment income. Not included in my Dividend total for June is interest income of $28.70. This month had no Mexico vacation property income due to switching property managers. I closed on the sale of my Toronto rental property in May so there is no income from that rental reported going forward. I used the proceeds to pay off the mortgage on my Mexican property which I continue to rent out while I’m not there.
New Cash Added to my Stock Portfolio
This month I added a hefty amount of new cash to my portfolio: $10,420.31.
Reinvesting dividends plus adding sizeable amounts of new cash each month his powering my Projected Annual Dividend Income (PADI) past $80,000 this year.
Once the snowball is rolling at this size, it is gathering snow and growing at a considerable pace. In fact, from June 2021 to June 2023, my dividends experienced a 32.9% increase.
Dividend Totals from June 2021-2023
My June 2023 Dividend total was $7,588.00
My June 2022 Dividend total was $6,310.72.
My June 2021 Dividend total was $6,049.01.

Stuff I love
Below is a list of stuff I love. The list does contain paid referral links.
WealthSimple Trade: Trade stocks at no cost / zero commission. Great if you want to buy a small amount of shares in companies on a regular basis.
Questrade: A solid platform for investors looking to purchase individual stocks and ETFs. Fees are low to purchase stock compared to higher fees traditionally found to purchase shares through traditional big bank platforms and ETF purchases are free. My referral code: 815820681448330
Addy: This platform enables investors who don’t want the hassle of being a landlord and/or who can’t afford pricey residential real estate, to gain access to real estate investing for as little as a $25 annual membership (something Addy recently added to their platform in terms of an upfront membership fee – note there are properties you can access without paying the membership fee but you’ll have access to fewer properties to invest in). Click my referral link.
Wealthica: A secure way to track all your investments and progress in one place, including net worth, dividend, distribution (from Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITS) for example), and interest income, etc. They also produce handy visuals so you track your financial independence goals in a visual way. (I use Wealthica everyday and I highly recommend it for my Canadian friends/readers. Use my promo code: WDDividendDaddy10 and get 10% off the yearly premium subscription).
Simplii Financial: Tired of paying monthly fees for chequing accounts and paper cheques but still want easy access to bank machines at no cost? Simplii Financial allows unlimited bank machine transactions at CIBC bank machines and no cost banking.
Passiv: Passiv turns your brokerage account into a modern portfolio management tool. Build your own personalized index, invest and rebalance with the click of a button, and seamlessly manage multiple accounts.
