My June 2021 dividend total was $6,049.01. This was my best month ever. I’m very grateful. This means that:
- In June, I earned $201.63 every day from dividends ($6049.01 / 30 days).
- Including rental property income, my total passive income in June was $6455.41.
- In June, passive income from dividends and rental income meant I earned $40.35 per hour (assuming a 9-5pm job) and $8.97 every hour of every day in June.
- From January to the end of June 2021, my dividend income is $24,347.62. My goal for 2021 is $50K in dividend income so after half of the year is over, I am $652.38 short or have achieved 49% of my goal.

Rental (Investment Property) Monthly Income After Carrying Costs: $406.45
Holy cow. That’s a lot of passive income in one month. 🙂
And you did it with a well diversified portfolio too. Well done!
Do you have a DRIP system in place or take everything in cash?
Thank you. I do have a DRIP in place although I am going to change that DRIP to just BTSX strategy stocks and use the dividends from other holdings to put into BTSX and lift my yield.
dam nice Daddy!
very cool to achieve those kind of numbers.
curious what are your top 5 favorite holdings in your portfolio?
keep it up great stuff
Thank you.
My top 5 holdings as compared to my top 5 favourite holdings could in theory differ. My top 5 holdings are: $VTI, $TD, $BNS, $XIC, and $ZFL. $XIC isn’t necessarily one of my favourite holdings although the fees are very low and performance is good. I hold $XIC because Wealthsimple uses it in its portfolio holdings. It’s easy to duplicate the Canadian market by buying the individual stocks yourself which makes an ETF for this purpose arguably unnecessary.
In my own managed accounts (TFSA, RRSP and Taxable), my top 5 holdings are: $BNS, $TD, $BMO, $XAW, and $ENB. Thus, the big Canadian banks rank very high. $XAW gives me diversification ex-Canada (outside Canada).
Caveat: This is not investment advice.
